Carry out ‘Make or Buy’ benchmarking exercise to establish if sourcing products would be cheaper than making them.

Achieve cost and time savings through supply chain management of manufactured products.

Implementation:

Global costing exercise carried out with suppliers in Europe, the Far East and Asia to locate three supplier bases in Turkey and Eastern Europe for sheet metal components.

Around 50 different product variants supplied for use in the manufacture of steel office furniture on a weekly basis.

Efficient handling of supply chain management resulted in substantial cost savings for the client.

Outcome:

The annual customer spend was around £350k with estimated savings of around 20%.

The establishment of a fast weekly logistics solution using supply bases in Eastern Europe and Turkey freed up production time at the customer’s site.

Developed into a 10 year+ working relationship.
